Luis has resided between his native country, Mexico, and Victoria, BC. Canada for the past 36 years. The colour and rhythm of his Mexican heritage is evident throughout his paintings in the juxtapositions of rich textures and sensuous colours. Merino’s focus is the female form, and painting after painting shows his search for it’s ultimate expression through his art.
